Getting the most from the this website
We have tried to keep this website simple in structure and we hope that you will find it to be very user friendly. At the top of each page, just above the banner graphic, there are three links. "E-mail us" calls up an e-mail blank that you can use to communicate with the Webmaster of this site, "Submissions/Suggestions" includes information about submitting material for inclusion on the site, and clicking "Tech Notes" will bring you to the page you are actually reading right now.
Every page on this website has a "Home Page" link that will take you directly to the site's Home Page. That is important because the Home Page has a complete navigation menu for the whole site.
The Home Page of this site has a detailed navigation menu in the left hand margin. That menu offers you links to every major topic represented on our website. If you are looking for some specific type of material go to the Home Page and start reading down the entries in the left hand column until you find what you are looking for.
One of the unique features that this site has to offer to the world is an extensive set of Internet links to information about the Hamilton Mountain. In order to make the most of these links we are incorporating an additional feature which we think you will find useful. Hover your cursor over almost every link on this site and you will notice a little pop up window that explains where that link will take you. This means you can confirm where you are going to end up even before you click on the link.
Document Downloads: Gradually this website will become your route to access important material. These documents may include more detailed historical or heritage information than appears on the actual website pages or even things as ordinary as information about coming community events. Most of these documents will be in a format called Portable Document Files (.pdf files). In order to access PDF files your computer must have installed on it software that can open these files. It is very likely that your computer came equipped with this software already installed but if it did not you can easily download what you require from Adobe Reader
Printing: If you wish to print out specific pages from this website we have attempted to make that task easier for you. Built into the site is a printing protocol which means that when you print out a page your print outs should only include the material in the main column of the page. That saves you both paper and coloured ink, etc. Try it and see if it works for you.
